Last Sunday January 3rd, we visited First Baptist Charleston. It was really neat to see this old building. It was founded in 1682 I believe.. The church is 327 years old, but the building has only been around since the 1800's. It was built like many of the churches you would find in the New England area of the country. It was all wood inside, and had the wooden doors to open to enter each pew. It was very Historical. We enjoyed church greatly. We attended the early 8:30am service. Everyone was very nice. We found however that this might not be the church we will join, so we are still looking. We are keeping our options open, and seeking God in His direction of where we will get plugged in at.
This Sunday January 10th, we visited Northwoods Baptist Church in North Charleston. It is a growing church with some recent new additions in buildings. The chruch itself was beautiful. We attended the 11:00 am Non Traditional service. It was a great service, the Pastor was very good. It was more of a laid back casual service, but was nice. We are going to continue visiting some other churches in the weeks to follow, as we continue to Pray about where we might be able to be used.
The journey of church hunting has been very good for us so far, we are learning about the culture and lifestyle here on the coast and we are finding where our fundamentals and stands are with a home church. It has been a great building experience so far as Husband and Wife to step out and search together and find what we are going to stand for as a family. :0
