My sweet Papa passed away at 3:30am on the morning of April 13, 2010. On Sunday we all got to call and tell him good-bye and that we loved him dearly. It was bittersweet, his passing, because we were are terribly sad and miss him greatly, but we are very thankful he is no longer hurting!
He was so ready to meet his Jesus, and now he is finally HOME!.. I know for sure my Gran-Gran and Aunt Bonnie met him there too!

Praying for my Papa
For several years now my papa's health has been declining. 3 years ago this Christmas he had fallen and they found bleeding on his brain. He had surgery and ever since has been weak and needed some assistance with things. This last year however we have seen his health decrease quickly. Due to some more falls and his legs being very weak, he has a cane and walker and a hospital bed in the living room to sleep on.
He was not able to travel to our Wedding in November due to distance and just the assistance he needs at home. That was hard to not see him there with us :( .
Since November, he has been on a roller coaster of health. At Christmas time Patrick and I had the opportunity to go and spend an afternoon over at the house with him in Florida.
I am so thankful and blessed to have had this opportunity! He was alert and able to speak to us, not only that but he was aware of who I was and it was a nice visit. (I am not sure he knew or understood I was married, but he was still laughing and joking and it was a wonderful day).
The last few months however have been hard on him, and my mom has made several trips down there to see him and help the nurses take care of him.
The week before Easter, my mom went and helped the nurses take care of him, from medicines to changing his pants etc. My mom loves her father and I know this time is so very hard for her. He was put on 24/7 Hospice care for 7 days and then checked at the end of the week.. They thought he was doing much better and breathing and eating better again, so changed back to 8 hour a day care.
She came home for Easter and quickly found herself right back down there is past week. On Tuesday the 6th we got a phone call early in the morning that he was not doing good and mom was leaving to head down there. Upon arriving my mom found his breathing very shallow and he had not eaten since Monday the 5th. At this time my mom and her 2 sisters began staying the night at the house, watching and sitting with him 24/7. My mom has now been down there 6 days.
Yesterday April 11th we all phoned to tell him goodbye. My mom called and told us his breathing had decreased greatly and at this time they are just waiting.
This morning he is still with us, but the doctors believe today he could go meet Jesus. Please continue to pray for my family and my mom's family.
We have known for a long time he is ready to meet Jesus and that he is sick, but losing someone you love is never easy. My mom is very close to her father, and I just know this time is extra hard for her.

The Lord knows when he will be calling him home, and until then we are praying for his pain to decrease and his family to find peace.

The Rest of Spring Break '10
We ended up relaxing the other days of the week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! :)
Patrick and I went every afternoon to the poolside and got some sun, and then would come in and watch movies or play Xbox. We went on Thursday to "The Bounty Hunter" and to the mall to eat and walk around. It was lots of fun and the movie was GREAT!!
On Friday we enjoyed yet another relaxing day, and Patrick got some money back and got his new 42" TV he had been wanting!! :)
Then we enjoyed a wonderful evening out with some great friends, David and Katie Perkins!
We met them at Wild Wings, and then went out to Putt Putt, needless to say the 2 boys bet us girls :(
Then we decided the night was young (yeah right..lol) and went to do a 2 hour Bowling Package at a near by bowling alley!! It was lots of fun, I bowled a 114 and then 104. Patrick got a 124 and 127, so all in all I wasn't to far behind him :)
It was lots of fun and we loved spending time with the Perkins!
On Saturday, Patrick and I relaxed and then decided to go out and see another movie, this time "DATE NIGHT", it was a good movie too!
Sunday after church we went off to Rebekah and Ben Waters house to watch the Masters and have a wonderful evening to end the break with 2 other couples. The ladies went shopping during the Masters, and then cooked dinner for the boys, ending the evening playing Craninum...
SPRING BREAK was a wonderful week, and I enjoyed every second of having Patrick home!! I am so blessed to have him in my life, and even more so to have this time of our lives!! :)

A Day at the Aqarium (spring break '10)
I had been wanting to go to the Aqarium here in Charleston for a while now, and Patrick and I decided to go on Tuesday the 6th. It was once again a very nice and beautiful day! We parked downtown and walked, enjoying the views of Charleston and the Harbor. The Aquarium was very interesting and we enjoyed all the different animals and wild life. I LOVED IT!
We then left and headed downtown and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Mellow Mushroom!! :)
All in all a wonderful day in Charleston!!

Plantation Day, (spring break '10)
Patrick's Parents came up for the day on Monday the 5th. It was such a fun day of exploring Charleston. Patrick's mom had a pass to get into DRAYTON HALL PLANTATION, so we all went! It was very historical and so pretty. I learned it was one of the only left standing plantations in this area since the Civil War.
I also learned they are preserving it, instead of restoring it. THis means all is left as it was, paint on walls, ceiling etc. No furniture etc of any time period.
It was so beautiful and the weather was perfect!!
We left the plantation and then went downtown Charleston for some more exploring and at lunch at the wonderful POOGAN's PORCH.. it was a wonderful little place to eat lunch and goodness was it good!!! :)
All in all it was a wonderful afternoon/evening with Patrick's family!

Happy EASTER
Easter Sunday was April 4, 2010. It was a beautiful Charleston day that day!! It was a wonderful day of Celebrating that we serve a RISEN SAVIOR. I was so happy to be spending this day this year with Patrick and getting to start some traditions for us!! ;)
We ate our Easter meal at Cracker Barrel, and it was wonderful! :) Then we spent a wonderful afternoon, poolside and going on a walk!!
It was also my brother n law, Matthew's birthday and my Mom's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT AND MOM !!

Princess (Angel)
So I mentioned in a blog a second ago, that Princess has a habit of shredding her toys.. :) Well the pictures to follow are what I found her doing one afternoon. She has had this puppy for over a year, and for whatever reason she decided that it was so much fun however to shred her toy and get angry at it this particular day.. lol. :)
However we love her to death!! She is our sweet Angel baby!! :)

Easter GOODIES and Shopping
I love this time of year! I love the Flowers, the warm weather, clothes and mostly fun goodies!! :)
But I love Easter because of our Celebration of a RISEN SAVIOR whom we SERVE!! This Easter was the best for me in years, because I was with family and someone I LOVE! My mom and dad have always celebrated Easter and the whole Easter Bunny thing with us, and still do. The past few years, I have recieved mine through the mail and loved it!! This year was no different, except my amazing hubby got some goodies from the Easter Bunny too (aka my parents). Patrick's arrived a few days before mine, from the POPCORN factory! He got a wonderful Easter tin full of flavored popcorn bags, pretzels, chocolates, eggs, jellybeans and chocolate chip cookies!! I also got him so Gummy LifeSavers and wonderful M&Ms, Eggs, and lots and lots of Jellybeans!! :0 (did I mention I love this time of year).
Patrick and I went to PetSmart and got Princess a cute little Cow stuffed animal, and hopefully this time she will not shred her animal as she has done in the past :) .. We shall see, it has not hard eyes or nose, so so far a success!!
I also went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got some colorful placemats and napkins for all under like $8.00. to complete our EASTER table!!
My gift from the Easter Bunny (aka my parents) arrived on Saturday the 3rd.. and Oh my WORD, I loved it!! I had gotten a Coach Purse from my AMAZING bridesmaids for a wedding gift, and my Parents for Easter got me the matching WALLET!! So needless to say it was a wonderful Easter Basket we got this year!!
***Then my amazing hubby took me ALL DAY, (literally) shopping for an Easter dress.. Bless his heart he searched high and low with me at every store in the mall and outside of the mall for a dress, and finally the last store was TJMAXX and we FOUND ONE :) .. it took about 15 trying on there to find the one, but thankfully I found it and love it.. and I LOVE HIM for shopping all day with me.. then did I mention he was amazing, well then he took me to get some shoes, and I actually got 2 pairs!! :)
So the day was a SUCESS for sure~~ ****

The Start of Spring Break (good Friday and Softball)
So thankful for Patrick working in the school system and getting a SPRING BREAK!! :) so nice!! His break began on Good Friday, April 2nd. Even though there was no school, he still had a game that night. And a DH at that! They played vs. Wando. The first game they lost 10-0, and then the second game were winning until the last inning.. They ended up losing 15-10 or something like that. However Wando is a very good team, and we learned after that second game that we have been the only team to score that many runs on them!! So to that the girls and coach were excited.
I was a little bit more excited, due to this officially STARTED OUR SPRING BREAK!! :)
And a week of run was to follow!
